How we built our sustainable kitchen
Look under your feet next time you come in for lunch. That's not marble you're seeing, but it looks exactly like it. Stone mining creates degraded air quality from stack emissions, water pollution, and deforestation. To achieve the look of marble without the environmental cost, our supplier cast high-resolution digital images of marble into porcelain, a material made from sand that is stronger and more sustainable than stone.
Look up from the floor and you'll notice the beautiful wood paneling. That is urban salvage redwood, saved from trees that have to be removed from a public safety risk. And what about the shelving? That is built from re-useable gas piping.
At CORE Kitchen we want to be sure that every aspect of our business is making the world a better place.
